Thanks to Stan Craine for the photographs and comments below.
                        Stan has said that he
would also like to offer his assistance to anyone else who wishes to fly helicopters.
"I don’t profess to be very good but I might be able to help someone avoid the mistakes I’ve made !!!!!"

Stan Craine has sent some pictures in of his TREX 450 being flown in his back garden.

The model has an inexpensive  ( read cheap ) metal head fitted but other than that it is not blinged at all.  Colco 400 gyro provides tail stabilisation and again is a very cheap copy of a Futaba unit.

I get 7-8 minutes of flight on cheap 11.1v 2200mah Chinese lipo batteries with the standard brushless motor as supplied in original kit.  Plenty of time to focus the mind or seek a change of underwear.

You don’t have to win the lottery to fly helicopters ( it might help ) and Gravity doesn’t seem to be to bothered about the cost of repairs.

(above) TREX 700 flown by Jeff Silsby. Jeff is really keen and is up at Jurby with every opportunity flying his TREX. ( 20mph winds etc........... ).  Electronics consist of Spektrum TX & RX with JR Digital Servos.
The big OS 90 engine means Jeff has a bowser with 40 gallons of methanol towed behind his car!

Power by an OS 32 the TZ30 shows all the finesse we associate with Chinese engineering.

In truth it’s not a bad model and raptor parts supposedly fit but I’m trying not to find out.

( And it doesn’t drink Methanol like some !!!  )
