The 2013 Manx Model Meet was held between Friday 2nd August and Sunday 11th August inclusive. The dates chosen were to avoid clashes with other events on the Jurby Airfield Events Calendar. ( Google Map & Site Map Link and Sat Nav info) The main event was the scale competition which took place on Saturday 10th August. Despite less than perfect weather on the day, a large number of members and visitors took part in the event. The scale competition was judged by the members themselves with votes cast being doubled for all models that flew on the day.

Manx Model Meet Pit Area 2013

Jurby Map Jurby Airfield was a WWII R.A.F. Airbase and retains the Air Traffic Control Tower built during that period. Access is provided to two full size runways throughout the meeting. Whilst this is ideal for models large and small, for those wishing to escape to the hills, there are also a variety of very good slope soaring sites. Camping was free of charge however the facilities were limited. There are toilet facilities, electricity and water supplies but no facilities for bathing or showering. A Village shop is within easy walking distance. The nearest main shopping area is in Ramsey where you will also find the Manx Electric Railway Station.
